14 March 2009 at 11:41

(the salt stings the eye balls like no other) We havent really started any missions work yet because we just arived so today was just resting. thnx 2 everyone who was praying for safety and please continue to pray. Anywho I don't have much time on the cpu and the internet is really slow so... talk to everyone later..peace out <3
p.s. yes mom .. I survied the flight and I'm doing fine.. you don't have to worry... really.. enjoy your coldness =P
Africa Update # 2
15 March 2009 at 06:50
3 things I've learned in Africa...
1. Roosters don't have snooze buttons.
2. Muslim prayer calls are really really annoying and happen 5 times a day starting at 4 in the morning. They also don't have snooze buttons. =[
3. Bugs. They're everywhere. Those Mesquito net things are a miracle from God. =]
Sooo....It's sunday at about 2 in the after noon. Church started this morning at 10 and it's still going. It's reeeeeeeeeeeeeally hot here but right now I'm in a nice air conditioned room =] .. For those who have never seen an African worship service... you should. it's pretty kool. there's people dancing everywhere and they have really loud voices and they love to sing and dance. They're crazier than people at pentacostle services. & I can't really tell when they're praying in Swahili or speaking in tounges .. lol. it's actually really kool. I filmed the choir singing a song..but that was just like a performance not the actual worship part. but it was still really good and I'll post it up on fb when I get home. I'm going to try to get one of the African girls to teach me the traditional Maasai tribe dances..just because that would be freaking awesome. anywho..that's all for now. pce out <3
Africa Update ## 3 !!! =DDD
Wed 14:50
So... Today I went to the market for the first time. I will never eat meat again in my life. I took pictures but you can't see all the flies in it and you can't smell it by looking at the pictures. =PP The weirdest thing happened today at the market. Some random stranger walked up to me, started talking to me and asked me if the leader was my father or if Caleb (the only teen guy on the trip) was my brother. For those of you who don't know... That means that he wanted to know my bride price. It was really creepy. ... I got presents for people today and some Kangas. (African clothing)
The 2 days before that I was teaching classes. The english class was pretty fun =PP The little kids here really respect teachers.. and they're sooooooooooooooooo cute. They love it when you take their picture ( probably because they get to see themselves right after it =P ) ..so I have alot of pictures of the little kids. =] ...Tomorrow we're going on a field trip with the older kids to the house of wonders. look it up if you don't know what that is.
We got the kids festival thingy planned. I'm in charge of crafts so please pray I can do it well =]
Also pray for wisdom, courage, smartness, and anti-brain fart moments for the festival. ( somewhat like vbs)
Also pray for health with the team members and leaders. Mrs. Lewis is 7 months ( i think ) prego and she's not feeling too well,, and well, we need her. pretty much everyone has gotten or still has a heat rash. I've been randomly getting really bad stomach aches and they're really really uncomfortable. And Joy ( one of the leaders ) has really bad back pain. so...... really REALLLLY pray for health.
pce out and I'll try to keep everyone posted.
Africa update #4 !!
Thurs 13:26
Thing number 63 that white people were never meant to do: Balance things on your head.
haha...today me and Elissa attempted to do that and some people from the Maasai tribe were laughing hysterically at us and taking pictures with their cell phones. ( everyone here has a cell phone )
Thnx to everyone who prayed for health, I'm feeling better and the heat rashes are going down..
The museum field trip thingys were really good but my camera died but I still got some pics and I re-charged it so it's all good.
Keep praying and God bless
P.S...I'm ariving back in TO on the 26th at 5 pm and Caleb F says hi to my mom.
Africa update # lost count
and too tired to care. xDD
Saturday 14:07
Sooo... Today we went to Chwaka and it was a really good turn out. 45 kids were there. ( Chwaka is smaller than Kincardine I think so thats realllly good =] ) Tomorrow we're doing the celebration here at the church so pray that that will go well.
Today was interesting.. I woke up and puked..then puked again about 30 min later. pepto bismol is absolutely an amazing miraculous gift from God. Not only that...but it's pink =DD ..and in pill form so you don't have to taste it =P haha.. but it really helps when it's coming out both ends. Elissa wasn't puking but she was pooping.. and Caleb has a really sore shoulder. Joy was just like me only puking more constantly and still is puking. Tonight could be interesting getting up constantly to puke or to hear someone else puke. So yeah...Really pray for health because tomorrow (and today) was the whole reason we came on this trip and if everyone is too crappy to do it then we're in trouble. ( btw.. Joy couldn't even go to Chewaka with us cause she was too sick..I almost didn't go but I was able to keep the pills and a lil bit of food down. But while I was in Chewaka I went to the car twice to rest cause I really wasn't feeling well. )
So here's the prayer list:
Seriously tho... please pray because we need prayer more than anything else right now.
Peace Out && God Bless

Above are some updates Faith wrote while she was in Africa. She arrived back safe and sound, and very excited about all she had experienced and done ... and wanting to go back.
She is now preparing for her next trip ... working with kids on the streets of New York in June. She is going with Global Expeditions/Teen Mania. Please pray that the rest of her funds will come in, and that all the details will be worked out.

Faith is getting ready to go with Into All the World's Mission Trip to East Africa. Into All the World is an enabling mission agency which started in 1981, and seeks to equip people to take the Gospel into hard places. They began first to work with churches in Kenya, and now work in over 20 nations around the world. Faith was part of their Teen Training Boot Camp in August 2008, and now will be spending some time visiting and sharing at All Nations Academy in Zanzibar during her Spring Break, as well as spending some time briefly in Kenya. She will be leaving Toronto on March 12, and arriving back home again March 24. As the time gets closer, she is getting very excited about going!
